Brevity

Brevity is a literary zine published six times a year, first launched in October 2019. As part of CAN YOU HEAR US?, three special editions will be produced using risograph printing – a stencil-based process where each colour is printed in separate layers, creating bright colours, textured ink and the slightly imperfect, handmade look often associated with zines and independent publishing.

The project will invite compelling works of fiction from across the Island, with a focus on amplifying a wide range of voices and perspectives. It will also explore the Island’s strong carnival tradition by pairing Island writers with local carnival organisations to create new short fiction inspired by this distinctive art form.
