Present: Stories Underfoot

Stories Underfoot is a new series of public performed walks produced by StoneCrabs Theatre. Building on the successful Faces+Places programme, the project blends history, heritage and theatre to create immersive outdoor performances rooted in the Island’s landscapes. Each walk uncovers layers of story and memory connected to extraordinary figures who lived, worked or performed here, including Virginia Woolf, Charlotte Mew, Oscar Wilde and Algernon Charles Swinburne.

Developed with professional artists, local historians and community participants, each walk is site-specific, recorded for future access, and invites audiences to explore hidden histories through performance, creativity and place.
