Listen Up is a youth-led filmmaking project from Artswork, empowering care-experienced and underserved young people to have their voices heard. Building on Artswork’s Young Cultural Changemaker programme, the project begins with filmmaking residencies at Medina College and Virtual School, where young people co-create films with professional filmmakers, shaping everything from themes to production.

In Phase Two, we will work with IWCEP, giving students in eight Island schools the opportunity to advocate for change through film, asking: if adults were listening, what would you say? The project culminates in a youth-produced touring film festival in Autumn 2026, giving young people skills in curation, event production and public storytelling, and building confidence, networks and long-term pathways into creative and cultural work.
