CAN YOU HEAR US? is a major cultural programme set to take place across the Isle of Wight in autumn 2026.
Led by Creative Island, the Island’s Cultural Development Agency, the initiative will bring together artists, community groups, schools and cultural organisations in a six-week celebration of creativity and culture across the whole Island.
The programme draws inspiration from Guglielmo Marconi’s famous early radio message sent from the Isle of Wight – “Can you hear us?” – using that idea as a way of amplifying the voices, stories and creativity of Island communities today.
Events will take place in towns, villages and landscapes across the Island between 11 September and 24 October 2026.
Activities are expected to include music, theatre, film, carnival, food events, guided walks and new public art commissions responding to the Island’s landscape and heritage.
The programme aims to celebrate local creativity while encouraging participation from people of all ages and backgrounds.
More than 20 organisations are involved in delivering the project, including arts venues, community groups and education partners.
Alongside the festival itself, the project also supports leadership training, youth activity and small community grants designed to spark new creative ideas across the Island.
Together, these initiatives aim to strengthen the Isle of Wight’s cultural sector and showcase the Island as an ambitious and creative place.
