Artists across the Isle of Wight now have access to significant new funding opportunities designed specifically for immersive technology projects.

The Immersive Arts Funding programme has launched with three distinct tiers of support, each tailored to different stages of artistic development and project ambition.

Supporting early-stage innovation
The Explore strand provides £5,000 grants for artists taking their first steps into immersive technologies.

This entry-level funding targets creators who want to build foundational skills in the field whilst connecting with potential collaborators.

Artists can use these grants to experience existing immersive artworks and begin developing their own creative concepts in this rapidly evolving medium.

Developing experimental practice
The Experiment strand offers £20,000 to support more developed projects and artistic practices.

This mid-tier funding enables artists to create experimental works, prototypes and proofs-of-concept that push creative boundaries.

Artists can test their ideas with small audiences whilst developing their technical expertise with immersive technologies.

The programme specifically encourages artists to consider access, diversity, and inclusion throughout their creative process.

Scaling up for maximum impact
The Expand strand provides the most substantial support at £50,000 for advanced projects ready for full production.

This top-tier funding focuses on artists who have existing prototypes and want to develop them into complete works.

Successful applicants will demonstrate plans for deepening audience engagement and widening their project’s reach.

The programme prioritises projects that embed inclusive practice from conception through to delivery.

How to apply
Detailed application guidelines and requirements appear on the programme’s official website.

Artists have until Monday 29th September 2025 to submit their applications across all three funding strands.

This represents a significant opportunity for Isle of Wight’s creative community to engage with cutting-edge artistic technologies and reach new audiences through innovative practice.
