Brave Island is gearing up to launch a new quarterly zine in 2026, offering young Isle of Wight creatives a free platform for their work.

The organisation now welcomes submissions from Islanders aged 14 to 25 for the publication, which will appear in full colour on A5 pages.

Open call for creative work
Young people can submit artwork, photography, poetry, articles, interviews or any other creative medium they choose.

The first edition takes Now or Never as its theme, which those taking part can interpret in any way they wish.

Brave Island suggests young creatives might explore the theme through ideas about new year beginnings, calls to action, or significant decisions.

Quarterly publication with launch event
The zine will appear four times throughout 2026, with each issue receiving a free launch event at Ventnor Exchange, which serves as Brave Island’s headquarters.

The first launch takes place on 31st January, with further details to follow.

Young creatives have until 4th January to submit their work through a short form on Brave Island’s website.

Platform for young Islanders
Ventnor Exchange established Brave Island as an online platform dedicated to providing free creative opportunities for 14 to 25-year-olds living on the Isle of Wight.

The organisation posts new opportunities each week, ranging from mentoring and training to paid jobs and commissions.
