You may be aware that there is an Island museum forum that have been meeting twice a year as a means of sharing intelligence, supporting each other and identifying shared ambitions. These meetings benefit from the advice and support of an officer from Museum Development and, sometimes, Arts Council of England.
Over recent months we have been exploring how this grouping might further develop and champion the entire heritage sector of the Island. Following some consultation it has been agreed that Creative Island acts as the convener and in facilitating these conversations, and that we might meet more regularly. Twice in person and twice online.
The next meeting is planned for 7th October from 2pm-4pm at Dinosaur Isle in Sandown. All museums and heritage centres are welcome to join. A finalised agenda will be sent to attendees closer to the time.
