Last year’s inaugural event was a huge success, with over 100 writers in attendance. Held in the comfort of the Island Sailing Club in Cowes, as well as a jolly, this is also an opportunity to hear briefly from various sources who can paint a broad picture of the Island’s cultural landscape focusing on what opportunities there may be for writers, both here and across the southern region.
The aim for the Isle of Wight Jamboree is to create a space for writers to connect, exchange ideas and enjoy an evening dedicated to the craft of writing. Writers will also have the opportunity to gain insights into the Island’s cultural and creative landscape, learning about key objectives, goals and emerging opportunities in the sector.
A collaborative effort
Medina Bookshop, in partnership with Creative Island and its IW Creative Network talent development programme, will be bringing this event to life.
Attendees can look forward to meeting representatives from Naked Figleaf Press, Brevity, Lemon Jelly Press and other organisations supporting local literary talent.
