Congratulations are in order for a group of 14 to 25-year-old Isle of Wight artists whose work now fills the Clayden Gallery at Quay Arts in Newport.

The exhibition forms part of the Brave Island Isle of Wight Young Artist Award and gives visitors the chance to see the creativity of many talented young Islanders.

Prize winners announced
Luca Frankland, a young artist and musician, who has two of his works on display in the gallery, was presented with first prize.

Special mentions went to Daisy Morris and Lillian Stafford, while judges highly commended Alfie Barnes and Donna Sansom for their entries.

The quality of work is outstanding and well worth a visit to see in person.

Winner of the Award, Luca Frankland explained why he entered the competition,

“I thought it would be really cool to get a wider opinion on what people think of my work, I really enjoyed talking about it with people that appreciated it which was really nice.”

Exhibition open to the public
The award presentation took place on Sunday in the gallery and drew a crowd of more than 70 people.

The exhibition runs until Saturday 1st November. Admission is free, and the gallery is open daily from 10am to 4pm.

See the Quay Arts website for more information.
