Department

This Way Up is a month-long takeover of Department in Ryde, led by young people.

Young people will shape the venue’s full Autumn 2026 programme, choosing the performances, events, workshops, classes and exhibitions that take place across the venue. Working together as curators and producers, they will create a programme that reflects their interests, ideas and creative ambitions.

With support from Department staff and visiting artists, young people will explore music, theatre, talks, digital work and visual arts, gaining hands-on experience while building skills, confidence and connections in the cultural sector.
