Artist Trudie Wilson invites you to explore the historic house through an immersive evening of light, projection and sound, revealing unexpected spaces and creating new ways to experience this extraordinary place.
The building itself becomes part of the artwork, lit in new and unexpected ways to reveal architectural details, textures and features that can easily go unnoticed during the day. Move through the house, discover its changing spaces and see Appuldurcombe from a different perspective.
For one evening, Nature’s House will unfold through the architecture of Appuldurcombe, connecting the house with the landscape, wildlife and downs that surround it.
Two brand-new projected films will be unveiled for the evening.
In the Great Hall, a new film will transform the magnificent space with light, movement and imagery — a celebration of the downs and natural landscape that surround Appuldurcombe.
Then venture down into the cellar, where a second new projected film will take over this atmospheric and hidden space, offering a very different and immersive encounter with the house.
