The legends are true… the giant kraken buried beneath Cross Street in Ryde is beginning to wake. When a single drop of seawater slips through a crack in the road, the Ship of Hope must set sail to protect the town from the sea beast below.
Join Shademakers UK for a spectacular day of free outdoor performances, music and costumes as the story unfolds across Ryde. Throughout the day you’ll discover community performances, before special guests Mécanique Vivante lead their enchanting Sirens’ Song parade through the streets. The day ends with an unforgettable finale as the magnificent Ship of Hope journeys down Union Street to face the kraken. This is a magical celebration of creativity, community and storytelling in the heart of Ryde Town Centre is perfect for everyone to enjoy.
