Join us for Southampton & Isle of Wight Music’s final celebration event for Songs of Place a year long project involving young musicians in the writing of songs about Myths & Legends of the Isle of Wight.
150 young instrumentalists from Medina Marching Band, Isle of Wight Symphony Youth Orchestra and Medina College and singers from across the Island’s primary schools will perform their songs alongside a piece written by composer James Redwood incorporating their ideas into a new commission involving all the performers. Pieces submitted via our Bedroom Producers Strand will also be featured in an evening highlighting young people’s experiences of living and growing up on the Island and giving them a platform to share their stories.
Save the date! This event is open to all ages and will run on Sunday 11th October from 5pm – 6.30pm in the Ventnor Exchange Arena at Sandham Gardens – a booking link is coming soon.
