Step into the creative heart of the Isle of Wight at IW Creative Network‘s inaugural networking event for photographers (visual artists and videographers also very much welcome).

This special gathering is scheduled for Thursday, 25th April 2024, from 5pm to 7pm, at the iconic Dimbola Museum and Galleries in Freshwater. Admission is free.

Steeped in photographic history
Dimbola Lodge, once the residence and creative sanctuary of the trailblazing Victorian photographer Julia Margaret Cameron from 1860 to 1875, now serves as a vibrant cultural hub.

Thanks to the stewardship of the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust, the estate flourishes as a museum, gallery space, gift shop, and quaint tea room open to the public. This venue, steeped in photographic history, offers the perfect backdrop for an evening of inspiration and connection.

Artist in Residence
We are thrilled to announce that George Budden, the recent Artist in Residence, will be sharing insights from his innovative workshop series, supported by Arts Council England.

George, known for his dynamic role in the arts as a visual artist, curator, and workshop facilitator, continues to push creative boundaries. During his time at Dimbola, he has engaged with young people on the Isle of Wight, introducing them to unique photography techniques.

More than just a meet-up
This networking event is more than just a meeting of minds; it’s a chance to weave connections, discover opportunities at Dimbola, and explore how we can collectively harness our Island’s rich resources.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an enthusiast eager to dip your toes into the world of photography and visual arts, this event promises to be a fountain of knowledge and inspiration.
