Join the Environment Agency and Artecology for a hands-on workshop on the beach at Yaverland, Sandown Bay, where you’ll help create small clay habitat artefacts that will be placed inside Vertipools – artificial rock pool features designed to support marine life and enhance the local coastline.
No experience is needed, and participants will use simple clay modelling techniques to create habitat features in a friendly outdoor setting. This is a great opportunity for local people, visitors, families and anyone interested in nature, creativity or the coast to get involved in a real environmental project, learn more about the Yaverland Coastal Defence Scheme and how it is helping to protect the coastline while creating benefits for wildlife.
By taking part, you’ll enjoy a unique beach-based experience, meet like-minded people, learn about local marine habitats, and help create something that will provide homes for wildlife for years to come.
