Acting Up at Quay Arts is a two-part programme celebrating the organisation’s long history of supporting performing arts on the Island. The first part is a two-day showcase of early-career performers aged 18–30 who have been supported by the Mike Howley Trust. It brings together a new generation of Island artists, sharing work across theatre and live performance.
The second part is a new commission from Deadman (Sam Bossman), a former Trust awardee. He will create a new play exploring life around Newport Quay between 1870 and 1900, drawing on memories gathered from local people. The work will be performed in and around the Quay Arts building, connecting the area’s history with contemporary Island voices.
