The East Cowes Heritage Centre opened in 1992 with the aim of preserving and exhibiting the history of East Cowes and Whippingham.

It occupies Number 8, Clarence Road, East Cowes, originally the premises of the International Stores, a branch of Victorian grocers and tea merchants.

There are extensive archives in files on over 80 subjects for visitors to access for research. These are currently being digitised.

An archive of artefacts, photographs and documents make the Heritage Centre an important record of the history of East Cowes and its surrounds. The centre is happy to take new archive and artefact material, particularly relating to East Cowes and Whippingham.
